Help - Frequently asked questions
There are a number of questions that appear from time to time that we would like to answer for you.
1) I cannot get my payment to go through - Help with Common Error codes
Error code 12000: 3D-secure Authentication Values
This indicates that you are trying to pay with a card-type that we can no longer process, usually Maestro
We do accept the following cards:Visa (and Visa Debit), Mastercard, Switch, Solo. We can also accept a pre-payment by Paypal if you have a Paypal Account, please email administrator@missimo.com for details.
Error code 11611: FMF Settings
This indicates that the Billing address is not the one registered with the card issuer (or bank) for the card that you are trying to pay with, so the transaction has been rejected by AVS anti-fraud measures. We advise customers not to make repeated attempts with a card - address combination that has generated this error code as any phantom / unused authorisations may show up on your account for a few days.
More information can be found in Terms and Conditions section 4 (Security and Fraud Prevention)
Error code 15005
This indicates that the bank has declined the transaction. Although that does sometimes mean that there are insufficient funds in the account, more commonly it is down to a simple mis-type. This may be the long card number, the 3-digit security code or the expiry / start date.
In particular the dates are very easy to mis-select.
Also, using the scroll-wheel on the mouse to move the page up and down may cause the cursor to grab the info in the 'date' box and move that up or down instead.
Please note, with any errors or mis-types, if your PC is auto-filling the boxes then it will repeat any previous typo on each fresh attempt. Please re-check all data before re-attempting payment.
2) How do I pay using my Paypal Account?

3) Can I pay by cheque?
We are sorry but we are unable to accept payments by cheque.
4 a) Do you ship to the USA / Canada / Australia / New Zealand?
We can ship to these countries provided that you can make a payment by Paypal.
Orders to theses areas are outside the scope of the website and would have to be put through manually, off the website.
Prices on the website are GBP, please investgate any currency / exchange rate differences before purchasing. (Sites such as Yahoo and Google offer free converters). Please also be aware of potential sizing differences (see 4c below). Returning unwanted or unsuitable items from outside the EU may prove very expensive as returns must be sent at your own cost.
We do have more detailed information about the Playboy Bunny Costume sizing and ordering that we can email on request.
You will need an email address that does not block our emails so that we can communicate with you; some US spam filters have blacklisted a vast block of IP addresses, including ours, therefore you may need to try a different email address to contact us. If this is still a problem, we will try and find a way of communicating with you but please be patient!
Please register on the website first (but without entering an address) select into My Basket any items that you wish to order so you can be sure that we have your size, then email:
administrator@missimo.com , giving
your name
your address
the sizes that you are ordering
We will complete an order for you from here and confirm back to you the total due in GBP for you to make the Paypal transfer to our Paypal account. Once your cleared payment is received we will despatch the goods via International mail with signature required on delivery. Parcels sent to outside the EU usually take at least 2 weeks but this does depend on any customs delays and your local service and is not guaranteed
January 2011: Increased security measures on airmail transported between UK and the USA have been compounded by recent weather conditions. Most airmail parcels to the USA are affected by the backlog and customers are experiencing significant delays, please therefore allow extra time for delivery to the USA.
4 b) How much is carriage to the USA / Canada / Australia / New Zealand?
We charge from £9.95 per parcel, depending on size of order; a small item such as single T-shirt is usually £9.95, a Bunny Cotume £14.95
4 c) How does missimo sizing compare to sizing in the USA / Canada?
We estimate that US size 6 is roughly a UK size 10.
However returning items that do not fit would be very costly so we would only advise shopping on our website if you are absolutely confident about UK sizing.

We try to fit in with traditional UK high street fashion sizing such as Top Shop. All our T-shirts are skinny-fit, unless we state otherwise in the detailed garment description, if you prefer a looser fit please go up one or even two sizes

7) Where can I find an explanation for a term used in a garment description?
Some of the terms used in the descriptions on this website are defined below
AOP - this stands for all over print.APPLIQUE - decorative shapes are cut out of fabric and stitched onto the garment.
COTTON INTERLOCK - a knitted jersey fabric, thicker and stretchier than Single Jersey, this fabric is usually used for long sleeved tops such as hoodies.
COOKIES - small petal shaped fabric-covered pads for slipping into a special pocket inside the lower half of a bra or corset cup to give more fullness and lift
DIAMANTE - sparkly crystals that are usually heat-sealed to the fabric with glue
DISTRESSED FABRIC - fabric has been treated or deliberately damaged in some way, to ''age'' it, usually some small holes in the fabric.
DISTRESSED PRINT - print that has gaps and cracks in the colour to ''age'' it.
DISCHARGE PRINT - process used to print colours onto dark fabric; some residual smell can be expected when the garment is first taken out of the bag, this should disappear with airing. Has a soft handle and washes well.
ELASTOMER - fine rubbery thread that is woven or knitted into some fabrics, allowing the garment to be stretched and to recover its original shape.
FOIL PRINT - A metallic foil shape with adhesive on the back is heat-sealed to the fabric, Foil prints are delicate and should be washed with care.
GRINNING SEAMS - this is a feature where seams have been stitched loosley so that the stitching is exposed.
INTERLOCK - see Cotton Interlock.
JERSEY FABRIC - any fabric that is knitted on a machine - will have a degree of natural stretch. Fabric will be more stretchy and give a tighter fit if it contains an elastomer such as Elastane, Lycra or Spandex.
KANGAROO POCKET - single pocket on centre front of garment that both hands can fit into.
LENTICULAR - a plastic transfer with tiny ridges, containing an image that appears to change as the item is moved about.
LICENSED - The rights to the characters and images on this website are owned under Copyright and can only be reproduced with the owner's permission. missimo.com only sells officially licensed products.
NICKS - small cuts, usually in the folded edge of the garment.
ORGANIC - fabric was produced to organic standards and without harmful pesticides or chemicals.
OUT OF STOCK - we have no stock of this style at the moment but some may be due in, please email us if this is a style you are interested in or use the alert function that appears when you click on the style.
PIXELLATED - the image has been enlarged so much that it becomes a pattern of tiny dots of the different colours that make up the image.
PLASTISOL - a type of ink that gives a bright solid colour on almost any background fabric or shade, the ink has a solid, slightly plastic handle similar to a transfer and sits on the surface of the fabric. It will crack if stretched too hard. Please DO NOT IRON this type of print.
RETRO - in the style of a previous era, normally 60s, 70s, 80s.
RUCHING - a gathered seam in the fabric that is either stitched in place or can be adjusted using drawcords
RHINESTUD - sparkly metal stud that is normally heat-sealed to the fabric with glue.
SINGLE JERSEY a fairly soft, thin knitted jersey fabric with a small amount of widthways stretch. Most of our t-shirts are made from Single Jersey fabric that weighs between 120g and 150g per metre.
SOFT HANDLE PRINT - the printing ink used is quite thin and has soaked into the fabric.
TRANSFER PRINT - a solid image is printed one colour at a time onto a waxed surface and then the whole image is applied to the fabric with a heat press. DO NOT IRON this type of print.
TWISTED NECK - the rib or band around the neck has been deliberately pulled during manufacture so that it twists slightly - to give the appearance of an old vintage T-shirt.
VINTAGE - style has been produced, washed, damaged or aged to look like an old garment, often with small holes or nicks in the fabric.
WATER-BASED PRINT - A type of printing used on white or pale fabrics (or where the fabric is tonally similar to the print). The ink has soaked into the fabric, giving a soft handle; it will stretch with the fabric and is quite hard-wearing. Very dark or bright colours may be prone to fading, especially if washed with harsh detergents at high temperatures.
WOVEN FABRIC - produced on a machine with warp threads running lengthways and weft threads running crossways. There is normally no stretch unless the fabric contains an elastomer such as Elastane, Lycra or Spandex.
